About SA Gorei Karate.

 
SA Gorei Karate was founded in 1974 by Shihan Harry Pieterkosky. Shihan Harry not only trained in Cape Town but also established Dojos in the Swartland and Boland areas.

The goal of SA Gorei Karate is to produce individuals who are positive, respected and who are able to champion others to grow personally. The main focus of SA Gorei Karate is to teach self-defence, martial arts techniques to both young and old.

Shihan Harry Pieterkosky is the chief instructor and oversees all training and gradings at the different Dojos.

What is a Dojo?
The term “Dojo” refers to a place where martial arts are practised.
How old must I be to start Karate ?
Any one 5 years and older can do Karate.
Can I come and have a look first, before I make a desicion ?
Yes, sure. Come and join us for two classes free. After that, you can make a decision.
Are you different from other Dojos ?
We see SA Gorei Karate as a family Dojo. Mom, Dad and the kids are all welcome to start doing karate and learn the all-important self-defence techniques.
How does the grading work ?
We evaluate students as they make progress during the training sessions. Shihan Harry will determine when a student is ready to grade. The sequence of the belts are as follows:

  2. Yellow Belt
  3. Orange Belt
  4. Green Belt
  5. Blue Belt
  6. Brown Belt
  7. Black Belt
What do I need to train ?
You can come with a track suit, once you decide to join then we provide you with a proper Karate Gee.
